»Æ¹Ïapp Lutheran College Anzac Service

On Thursday 24 April, our College community gathered to honour the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping missions.

The service began with a warm welcome and introduction from our College Captains. Our Junior School Captains then led us in prayers, helping everyone to reflect on the importance of the day.

We acknowledged our own student cadets, including those from Army, Air Force and St John Ambulance.

Our talented music students, conducted by Mrs Llewellyn, performed a modified, acoustic version of Cold Chisel’s Khe Sanh, with Stella singing and Banjo playing the acoustic guitar. Jorja sang the New Zealand and Australian National Anthems beautifully, and our combined College choir closed the ceremony with a performance of I Still Call Australia Home.

Thank you to our guest speaker, CAPTAIN Lee Pendlebury from Headquarters 1 Brigade, who gave a thoughtful commemorative address. His words reminded us of the bravery, service and sacrifice of all Defence Force members.

Students, College leaders and special guests laid a wreath or book in remembrance of those who have served. The Ode of Remembrance was then recited, followed by The Last Post, a minute of silence, The Rouse and the Present Arms.

Thank you to all staff, students and guests who made this special service possible.

Lest we forget.
