Monster Mayhem – Review

Kill the monsters. Use the knife, handgun, shotgun or one of the other weapons in your arsenal to take them out.

Graphics/Sound: ★★★★★

Monster Mayhem is an absolutely beautiful game. The animations are funny and extremely well done. The sound is great too.

Controls: ★★★★½

Controls are almost perfect. The guns take some practice to master.

Replay Value: ★★★★☆

Two game modes. Openfeint intergation. Plenty of achievements and unlockable locations will keep you coming back.

Overall: ★★★★★

Buy it! You will not be disappointed. Monster Mayhem has an awesome interface, great graphics, excellent sound, has tons of content, and it’s a blast to play.

Ninjatown is BACK in this brand new climbing adventure! Climb, climb, climb while avoiding syrup, fireballs, devils, and more.

Graphics/Sound: ★★★★★

Beautiful! I absolutely love the way Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! looks. The animation is smooth and pleasing to the eyes.

Controls: ★★★★½

Minor Issue: Jumping from the branches can be a little tricky.

Replay Value: ★★★★½

Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! will keep you coming back for more tree climbing action. It’s a “just one more time” game you won’t want to put down. I hope future updates bring more power-ups and enemies.

Overall: ★★★★★

Finally I can become the tree-climbing Ninja I’ve always wanted to be. A definite buy!

Angry Birds – Review

Angry Birds is an addictive, can’t-put-it-down, just-one-more-level game from Rovio, a Helsinki based developer. Destroy the pigs and everything else in your path to get the highest score possible.

Graphics/Sound: ★★★★★

I love the graphics, but you decided for yourself. (Keep an eye out for the stupid little smirks you get from the pigs you don’t destroy. They’ll drive you crazy.)

Controls: ★★★★★

Controls are great, even for my stubby sausage fingers.

Replay Value: ★★★★★

You won’t be able to put Angry Birds down, nor will you want to. The 120+ levels will keep you coming back for more and more. Angry Birds features achievements, leaderboards and “Crystal” integration to connect with others. If you’re a completist like me, you’ll spend hours trying to get 3 starts on every level.

Overall: ★★★★★

Angry Birds = Happy People!

Addicus is a fast-paced, addictive numbers based game. Add up numbers to reach the goal number before the timer runs out.

Get Set Games makes good looking games. Addicus is polished, clean, and fun to look at.

Tap the giggling number mushrooms.

Replay Value: ★★★★☆

Addicus isn’t mind-blowing, but it’s definitely a game worth getting. It’s simple concept will keep you coming back time and time again.

Overall: ★★★★☆

Addicus is fast-paced and fun. Buy it!

Run for Life : Highly Addictive Game is a running game. Try to run as far as possible without falling.

The graphics are weak and the sound is lame.

Replay Value: ★☆☆☆☆

It can be replayed, but I don’t want to. Run for Life is a game I’ll never be playing again.

Overall: ★☆☆☆☆

I got it while it was free, and I feel like I got jipped. Run as far away from Run for Life as you can. Get Canabalt instead.

Bird Strike Gold Edition – Review

Bird Strike Gold Edition is a “climb-as-high-as-you-can” game from PikPok, but it has a twist. Launch Gerald the Bird into the air and see how high he can go, but remember, what goes up, must come down.

Graphics/Sound: ★★★★☆

Bird Strike Gold Edition is one of the most polished and best looking games on the iPod touch. I love the graphics. The sound effects could use a little work. Also, some background music would be nice.

Controls: ★★★★½

Tilt steering is accurate.

Replay Value: ★★★★☆

Sweep Man – Review

Sweep all the dirt as quickly as you can, but don’t touch the dog or any other animal.

Graphics/Sound: ★★★★☆

The pixel art graphics are the best thing about Sweep Man.

Controls: ★★★☆☆

Tilt left, stop, sweep. Tilt right, stop, sweep. Shake the phone to jump. I wish Sweep Man would constantly sweep, but instead you have to go to a certain spot, stop and sweep.

Replay Value: ★☆☆☆☆

Not much to keep you coming back.

Overall: ★★☆☆☆

I love the pixel art graphics, but that’s about all. I don’t enjoy sweeping in real life, and I don’t enjoy sweeping on the iPhone. In my opinion, Sweep Man is not worth buying.

Rocketards – Review

The game will increase with difficulty by requiring you to manage multiple Rocketards and deal with smarter and more aggressive enemy Rocketards.

I got bored with it pretty quickly.

Give the Lite version a go, and spend your money on something more worthwhile.

The graphics are good, and the animations are very well done Oh yeah, they’re pretty funny too.

Bailout Wars is a pretty good castle defense games on the iPod touch. I recommend giving the free version a shot
